Now that you’re logged in, navigate to the Shop page. Here, you’ll find a short list of our four most popular categories, as well as a complete list of all available products.

Step 3: Select a Product Category

All of our spindles fall into two main parent categories: Truck Spindles and Trailer Spindles. There are various other categories and sub-categories to explore, and you can view them at a glance using the category selector near the top of any shop or list page.

Truck Spindles include spindles for highway, dump truck, and other large Class 8 commercial vehicle axles, as well as heavy and light-duty straight truck, pickup truck, and cargo van axles.

Trailer Spindles include a variety of semi-trailer spindles, most of which fall into one of two subcategories, Tapered Spindles, and Parallel Spindles, as defined by their unique shape.

Accessories include an assortment of essential parts and tools designed to make installation easier and more efficient. This category features spindle sleeves, measurement and alignment tools, and more, helping you streamline your installation process. Popular Choice highlights our best-selling items, making it a great place to browse top-rated products. See what other customers are purchasing and explore the spindles that have built our reputation as a leading spindle authority across North America.

Step 4: Choosing the Right Spindle

Selecting the right spindle for your truck or trailer can feel overwhelming, but we’ve put several tools and resources in place to help guide you toward the best choice.  Let’s review them here, starting with Truck Spindles.

Find the Right Spindle For Your Truck

Start by navigating to the Truck Spindle category by either clicking the Truck Spindles category thumbnail, or using the category selector.

Review the product names to narrow down the type of spindle you need. Some product titles include specific axle manufacturers or model numbers, while others list vehicle brand names—or both. Once you’ve identified the product title that best matches your vehicle or axle model, click the thumbnail to view the full product page for more details.

Read the product description carefully to review key details such as the product’s intended use, compatibility, and material composition. Below the product information, you’ll find the product price, a gray button labeled “Not sure about size?”, the red add-to-cart button, and a general product specifications table.

We’ll discuss the “Not sure about size?” and add-to-cart buttons shortly, but for now, focus on the product specifications table. This section provides essential details for an axle spindle compatibility check, including Type, Recommended Fit, and a quick overview of Compatible Parts. Be sure to compare these specifications to your vehicle’s make, model, and associated parts, such as bearings and wheel seals, to help determine if this spindle is the right fit for your truck.

Not Sure About Size?

Depending on the product page, the “Not sure about size?” button may function differently. For most truck spindles, clicking this button will scroll down to the compatibility section of the product description.

For truck axles, the brake spider plate is the key to compatibility. In the compatibility section, you’ll find the model number and high-definition images of the matching brake spider plate. To ensure a proper fit, perform a visual inspection of your vehicle’s brake spider plate and confirm it matches the listed model.

Additionally, this section includes a list of compatible parts for the spindle, such as bearing sets, lock nuts, and wheel seals. Carefully review this list and verify that these components match your vehicle’s current configuration.

Pro Tip: Check the product images for a full 360 degree look at the compatible brake spider plate. Available on some truck spindle product pages.

Once you’ve reviewed all the details and verified a match, you’re ready to add the spindle to your cart. Simply select the quantity and click the red add-to-cart button to proceed.

Find the Right Spindle For Your Trailer

Selecting the right trailer spindle is similar to choosing a truck spindle, but there are a few key differences to keep in mind. We’ll cover those here.

To get started, navigate to the Trailer Spindles category from the Shop page. You can do this by clicking the Trailer Spindles category thumbnail or using the category selector.

Start by reviewing the product names to narrow down which spindles are most likely to fit your trailer. Most trailer spindles are classified as either Tapered or Parallel, which refers to the spindle’s shape, and is a key factor in making the right choice.

Perform a visual inspection of your trailer’s spindles:

  • If the spindle has a conical shape, gradually decreasing in diameter toward the end, you’ll need a Tapered Spindle.
  • If the spindle is straight, maintaining the same diameter throughout, you’ll need a Parallel Spindle.

Once you’ve confirmed your spindle’s shape, disregard the size for now (75, 85, 115) and click any product thumbnail to view the full product page for more details.

Pro Tip: If you know your trailer’s spindle shape, you can use the category selector to filter by Tapered or Parallel trailer spindles.

On the product page, read the description carefully and take note of the bold reminder: “Don’t forget: This spindle requires a XX Series Sleeve.”

Our trailer spindles come in three main sizes—75, 85, and 115 Series. However, to accommodate a wide range of axle types, models, and manufacturers spanning decades, a spindle sleeve is required to tailor the spindle diameter for a precise fit. We’ll cover spindle sleeves in greater detail later in this article.

Below the description, you’ll find the now-familiar section displaying the product price, “Not sure about size?” button, add-to-cart button, and product specifications table. The specifications table includes essential details such as Type, Recommended Fit, and Compatible Parts. Pay special attention to the axle tube size and compatible components to ensure a proper match for your trailer.

Not Sure About Size?

Clicking the “Not sure about size?” button on a 75, 85, or 115 Series trailer spindle product page will launch the Spindle Wizard—a powerful tool designed to help you find the exact spindle and sleeve for your trailer axle.

With the Spindle Wizard, you can input your OEM axle dimensions, quickly identify the correct spindle and sleeve, and add both to your cart in one step. The tool is easy to use and also provides valuable information on determining your axle tube’s dimensions.

For additional help, click any of the three blue question marks next to axle tube OD, WT, and ID to view images and videos on how to measure these key dimensions.

Choosing the Right Sleeve for Your Spindle

To manually select a sleeve for your trailer spindle, navigate to the sleeve product page that corresponds to the Series number of your selected spindle (75, 85, or 115 Series). Sleeves can be found by clicking the Accessories category thumbnail or using the category selector.

Read the product description carefully—everything you need to know about the spindle sleeve is provided here. The Spindle Wizard is also available on this page and can be launched by clicking the “Not sure about size?” button. Again, this is a valuable resource for learning how to determine your trailer axle’s inner diameter (ID).

Once you’ve determined your axle’s inner diameter, enter it in the input field before selecting a quantity and adding the item(s) to your cart.

Step 5: Checking Out & Payment

The checkout and payment process is straightforward and covered in detail in our How to Sign Up and Start Shopping on axlespindle.com guide. For this article, we’ll keep things brief.

Before checking out, review your cart to confirm that all items and quantities are correct. Once everything is accurate, proceed to the checkout page, where you’ll find our secure payment gateway. We accept all major credit cards, and for your security, card details are never stored on our servers.
