How the Training Program Works
Step 1:
Take the Welding Test
A short 10-minute welding test via video call confirms your technician can achieve proper weld penetration before training begins.
Step 2:
Complete the Training Program
Complete virtual via video call or in-person training at your facility. Covers removal and installation procedures for drive axle spindles, trailer spindles, and trailer spider plates.
Step 3:
Start Offering Axle Spindle Services
Pass the final welding test, get approved, and you’re ready. Vendor pricing activates, your listing goes live, and you start handling spindle and spider plate removal and installation jobs.
What are the Welding Test Requirements?
Before training begins, a short welding test is required to assess weld quality, fusion, and penetration.
Please review the requirements below:
- A weld test is required before training can begin
- The test takes approximately 10 minutes
- You will need to prepare a 5-inch or 5 1/8-inch metal piece
- The metal piece can be a flat bar, pipe, or round tube
- If using a round tube, acceptable outside diameters are: 3 inch, 4 inch, 5 inch
- Acceptable material thicknesses are: 1/4 inch, 3/8 inch, 1/2 inch
- The purpose of the test is to check weld penetration
- We need to confirm that the welder can properly melt the metal and achieve good penetration.
